Sarah Clayborne (born Chicago) also known as The Pie Lady is a pie chef, restaurateur, and community activist in Memphis, Tennessee. ==Early life==
Clayborne was born Beverly Jean Williams and reared on Chicago's South Side, the eldest of two siblings reared in a single parent home. At the age of seven she started her own business. Her grandfather Daddy Rufus built her a snowball stand. By the age of twelve, she led a group of girls to start their own 4-H Club and began selling pies, cakes, and cookies in the neighborhood of Chatman in Chicago going door to door. She was taught by her grandmother Mama Julia at the age of five how to cook; her first cooking lesson consisted of black-eyed peas, okra, and cornbread.
